Mission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We want to get as many people as possible excited about science. To arouse enthusiasm, science must be communicated in an understandable way. That is why the IISC was founded by a team with many years of experience in science communication and science journalism.

Our activities are aimed at anyone who wants to communicate science in an understandable way, whether from research and science, science communication or science journalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We teach the craft of science communication in seminars and events. We document particularly successful examples, analyse the state of science communication in studies and surveys and develop teaching and training materials - off- and online, in print, as podcasts, graphics or as animation videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those who want to communicate science can also hire us as consultants. We are also happy to implement the results of our analyses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Thomas Kvicala<\/strong>

Thomas has been in the communications industry for thirty years, including a decade in science communications. Stations: Editor and presenter at ORF and several print media, press spokesperson in ministries and international companies, head of a course for journalism, managing director of a communication agency for life sciences and health topics, university lecturer.

As a media trainer, he has trained participants from all EU countries (yes, really from all) over the last 20 years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Video, animation, interaction. Surveys and analyses. He knows how to communicate science with cool animation videos.

Originally from the chemical industry with a focus on quality assurance, he later specialized in communication and animation.

He also a specialist in analysis and has worked in this field for several organisations. We would like to call him our Swiss army knife man, but there's this film with Daniel Radcliffe ...<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Born in Tehran, lived in Brussels for many years, enthusiastic Viennese and has been working as an agency manager in the communications industry for two decades.

For ten years, her seminars have aimed to give women a voice and a stage internationally. Since 2014, her focus has been on scientific topics that are considered difficult to communicate. Because when something is said to be difficult or even impossible, only then it becomes really interesting for \"Met\".<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

State Prize for Science Journalism, founding member and long-standing head of the science editorial department of the \"Standard\", now Science Communication Manager at the Children's Cancer Research Institute and science author. Peter knows like no other what the media want from science - and he shares this knowledge with us.

The multilingual radio journalist with Bulgarian-Syrian roots is an audio producer, podcaster, media maker, speaker, moderator, trainer and university lecturer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among other things, she creates radio programmes and podcasts for the University of Vienna and the Agency for Education and Internationalisation (OeAD). Maiada is a trainer at the largest community radio in the German-speaking world - and now also with us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
